How to Become the Best Accounting Student in Class

Here are some of the tips on how to become the best accounting student in your class:

1. Don’t be a late comer.  Being on time counts a lot to the teacher.  And it is also an opportunity for you to browse the topic for the day.  Not all professors can understand your situation, whether you came from a far off place or you met a traffic, etc.  Have in mind that being disciplined starts with being punctual.  

2. Have your calculator with you always. It’s your main weapon aside from your ballpens, worksheets and of course your knowledge in accounting.  Without a calculator, you’ll have a hard time in computations especially if the professor sets a time limit for the examination or exercises.

3. Read in advance. This will give you confidence to answer the questions to be raised by your professors.  It will also give you much advantage over your classmates.  It’s not anymore “first-view” but a “re-view”.

4. Consult with people knowledgeable with a particular topic on accounting. This is in case the topic is somewhat vague to you or you do not understand the topic fully.  Having a tutor will also help although sometimes it entails some costs. 

5. Don’t give up. Sometimes you really have to meet some mistakes on your computations, but never give in.  You have to learn from your mistakes.  Have a compilation of your quizzes to check on those items where you went wrong.  There is a strong possibility that those items will still appear on major exams.

6. Pray. You can do everything with the power of prayer.  Always remember that there is One above who knows everything even accounting and He can help you through.
